THE DUSE ROOM. Part III
The permanent space dedicated to the great Italian actress is once again open for visits as part of the Foundation's tour
Starting from March and until December 2024, the third and final appointment of a trilogy of exhibitions dedicated to Duse’s relationship with the city of Venice (2022), with the Italian scene of her time (2023) and , finally, with artists and theater from all over the world (2024). Through the press of the time, the photographs, the posters and the writings dedicated to her and other materials, the visitor will be guided to discover one of the happiest pages of Italian theater of all time. The Room of Eleonora Duse, open and visitable since 2011, is a space dedicated to the memory of the great Italian actress; a place that was created with the aim of making the precious heritage preserved in the Duse archive accessible to the public through temporary exhibitions. For the first time since its opening, Eleonora Duse’s Room, in the year of its centenary, is included in the guided tours offered at the Giorgio Cini Foundation.
Experience the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore
Visit the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice safely, where art, history, architecture, culture and food and wine come together to offer a unique emotion. Guided tours of the Vatican Chapels and the Borges Labyrinth are available every day. From 21 May it will be possible to access the Green Theater and visits to the museum complex of the Giorgio Cini Foundation will also start again
Tour 'Giorgio Cini Foundation': enter the beauty
The tour includes a visit to the Longhena Staircase, the Palladio Cloister, the Buora Cloister, the Cenacle with the Wedding at Cana, the Longhena Library (only on weekends) and the Nuova Manica Lunga. A journey accompanied by an audio guide through art, history and architecture.
Tour 'Vatican Chapels + Teatro Verde', the architecture of enchantment
The tour of the Wood with the Vatican Chapels lasts approximately 50 minutes, during which you can walk through the wood and experience the fascination of the Vatican Chapels, the installations of the Vatican pavilion which were created for the 2018 Architecture Biennale, as you listen to the audio guide with the original soundtrack composed by Antonio Fresa. By booking the last tour of the day, you will also have the chance to visit the Green Theater. The tour will be available until May 30th at 5:00 PM and starting from May 31st at 3:00 PM.
Tour 'Borges Labyrinth': the garden of forking paths
On 11 June 2021, the Borges Labyrinth opened for the first time, built in 2011 to pay homage to the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of his death: a kilometer of forking paths, composed of 3200 boxwood plants arranged according to the design of the architect Randoll Coate. The 45-minute tour allows you to visit the "Nuova Manica Lunga", observe the Borges Labyrinth from above and follow its paths, accompanied by an audio guide with the original soundtrack, composed by Antonio Fresa and performed with the Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice.
